Ready to Coach? 
With over 450 players registering for the Fall 2017/Spring 2018 season, we need YOU!  If you have you ever considered coaching … now is your chance!  Gettysburg AYSO will train you for free!  The rewards are immeasurable and the memories are priceless!

 What do I need to do to Coach?
1. Fill out a volunteer application by logging into your Blue Sombrero account above. This registers you as a volunteer in the AYSO National Database for the current season. A volunteer form must be completed once every year.  If you haven't already registered click the link above to register in the system (instructions are here https://bluesombrero.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/228183867-Parents-Online-Registration-Instructions).
2. Complete the Safe Haven and Concussion certifications at AYSOU. You need to be a currently registered volunteer in Blue Sombrero to access AYSOU.

AYSO Safe Haven Child and Volunteer Protection Training Online
All Coaches, Referees and Volunteers are required to complete the CDC Concussion Course found under the Safe Haven Training. In order to qualify as Certified in Safe Haven trained, you must either attend a Safe Haven Certification session and pass the test with a satisfactory score, or complete this online certification and answer all of the questions correctly. Online Safe Haven Certification Child and Volunteer Protection course - required for all Coaches and Referees - can now be taken from home! To take a Safe Haven course, please click here: AYSOU In order to register for a course you will need your AYSO ID number which can be found by logging into your account above he volunteer section of your account, or by creating a new account and completing your volunteer form to generate a new ID number.

Incident Reports 
AYSO Incident Reports completed in the event something critical happens. All Incident Reports must be submitted to the National Office. Filling out an Incident Report immediately after an injury, property damage or any other serious incident will give you an opportunity to capture facts and contact information before witnesses leave the field. Incident Report Forms can be found on our homepage under Important Documents.

Make sure all your coaches have several copies of the form at the beginning of the season, and know the correct procedure to fill out the reports and turn them in. Incident Reports are not only a best practice, but also required by AYSO to ensure proper follow up can made. 

Remember, you must keep all incident reports on file and mail a copy to the National Office , ATTN: Risk Management, 19750 S. Vermont Ave., Suite 200, Torrance, CA 90502. 

Incident Reports should be completed by any Region staff witnessing any serious incident involving, but not limited to: injuries , threats of bodily harm, fighting whether or not a serious injury occurs, property damage, hospitalization of a participate , law enforcement summoned and/or service or notification of pending lawsuit
